She was speaking of the rapists of Recy Taylor, who "in the era of Jim Crow were never persecuted". Must have meant "prosecuted". Though considering what they did they could have used some persecution too.

This was part of her acceptance speech for Cecil B. DeMille award.

I hear she also was quoted something about "your own truth" or "your truth". What does that mean? There is only one truth.

I hope she is the Dem candidate for 2020.

There is only one truth, but each person only knows a part of the universal truth. Remember the story about the blind men and the elephant. Unless and until multiple people reveal what happened to them personally ("your truth"), it's possible for others to discount the extent of what happened or to label a single individual as a kook, money grubber, out for vengeance, or some similar label.

I'm thinking that this particular self-made billionaire may be a wee bit smarter than Donny. Probably saner as well.

I doubt she is going to run, and I don't think she should. I hope "no more celebrity Presidents" is one of the many takeaways from the current national embarrassment.
