Most people root for NFL teams in this order:

1. Their main team
2. The backup team they root for when their main team is not doing well
3-27. The middle ground
28-30. The other three teams in their main team's division
31. The Cowboys
32. The Patriots

Well...... You know the fix is on now....... The Eagles just got called for an illegal shift for moving the buses and making Brady get on the wrong one.

A high school classmate, Austin Anderson '76, is the alternate Umpire in tonight's game. Ruben Fowler #71. I hope he gets to come in.

I was going to post on his FB page "Hey Ruben, how does the alternate thing work? Do you think you'll get in for a few plays? Like maybe if the Patriots have a large lead in the 4th and don't need anymore help?". But I thought, "probably shouldn't".

Here is an article from the Austin American Statesman about Ruben (from 2011).
As an umpire. Take a look at Fowler — a 53-year-old [he's 60 now] Austinite and retired firefighter who's a 6-foot-2-inch, 255-pound piece of granite — and the first thing you notice is his size. New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush once told him he resembled Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith. But Smith doesn't have arms like Fowler's.

Still waiting for their first Super Bowl score in 49 years. Maybe now that I'm home in time to watch the fourth quarter, I'll finally get lucky. --Bob

It was a great game. I didn't have to sit there and wait for the commercials. Congratulations to the Eagles!

I agree about Manning-Beckham having the best commercial.

The cold freezes their brains.
The Wentz factor is interesting. There were a lot of newly hatched Eagles (read Wentz) fans in North Dakota and Minnesota. If he had been healthy, this area would have been strong Eagles country. Very, very common too see Wentz jerseys and some local radio stations carried Eagles games.

However, the ill treatment of Vikings fans in Philly got a lot of news coverage and in the absence of Wentz seemed to push most of Mn/ND to the Patriots side.

Most of the 30 (or so) adults at the party I attended were for the Patriots, with a few exceptions (especially a few kids). It was commonly thought that the game would have been a lot more fun If Wentz were playing and the house would have been strong Eagles territory.

Me, I don't really give a hoot as I watch few games, except in a social setting, but I found myself hoping for a Patriots win.

I liked the Tide commercials, but they were overdone.

There were nine touchdowns and only five points after touchdown.

And the NFC East is the only division in which each team has won the Super Bowl.
