RIP Oscar Gamble

Pretty decent baseball player, but most folks remember him for his HUGE Afro. Recent appearances at Yankee Stadium for Old Timer's Day demonstrated that his Afro was long gone.

I hadn't realized he was that old or played that long ago.

It's interesting that he was traded to the White Sox for Bucky Dent, and we all know how that turned out.

For those who don't, the Yes Network's "Yankees Classics" series that replays historic Yankee games in their entirety, is happy to remind them. It seems that they show that 1978 one-game playoff every couple of weeks. Even I, as a rabid Yankee fan, don't feel the urge to watch that game 452 times.
