Another Rock Hall of Famer has left us.
Edwards replaced David Ruffin as one of the two lead vocalists of The Temptations, assuming the gravelly voiced role that complimented the smooth falsetto voice of Eddie Kendricks. He sang lead on "Cloud Nine", "Psychedelic Shack", and was featured prominently on "I Can't Get Next To You", "Ball Of Confusion", and "Papa Was A Rolling Stone".
Edwards, Ruffin, and Kendricks are all gone, as are original members Paul Wiilliams and Melvin Franklin. Founding member Otis Williams is the only survivor from their peak years.
Edwards would've been 75 tomorrow (Saturday).
