Longmire-Wyoming Murders and South Dakota's Pine Ridge

Been binge watching Longmire and out of curiosity I looked up a few things.
In 2015, Wyoming had 16 murders, which means that Sheriff Longmire handles all the murders in Wyoming and then some-(LOL).
Then just for fun, I looked up South Dakota and some Pine Ridge. It surprised even me that in 2015 Pine Ridge Reservation had 9 murders, however in 2016 that spiked to 17.
That 1 small reservation in 2016 had basically as many murders as Wyoming and since South Dakota (in 2015) had 32 murders -Pine Ridge has 30 to 50% of all the murders in South Dakota.
