Lyrically Speaking - 2/15/18

#1 Post by littlebeast13 » Thu Feb 15, 2018 3:28 am

For the penultimate game in the 2018 LSWE, we're gonna try the LS version of Don't Forget the Lyrics. Each set of lyrics below has all or most of the last line of verse blanked out, and you can get an extra point for correctly filling in the blanks with the rest of the lyrics. Your lyrics need to be word perfect to get the extra point, and (I hope) the number of blanks indicate how many words are to be filled in. There will be no Krox Bonus in this game... you already have a shot at 50 points as it is!

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist, 1 point for the missing line...

I've learned something today...when you lay the lyrics right out in front of me, I'm pretty good at identifying the song. Ask me to come up with the missing lyric....not so much.
That info seems to be getting deleted more and more with my increasing age...

___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___
Kodachrome - Paul Simon - "I can read the writing on the wall" (A few of you said "see the writing." Your Song - Elton John - "if they're green or they're blue" (I have never noticed anyone's eye color.... ever. I guess that has to do with how rarely I make eye contact with people...)

Vandal gets 2 JJC points from Stubby Pete O'Rourke...

Weasel gets 2 JJC points for calling me an ass. And who knew Donnie was a Dem....?

BiT gets a supermax for Jimmy Dean's sausage, and as a kind of lifetime achievement thing for the fonts...

frank gets 3 JJC points for thinking I'm as sexy as Speedo Man...

TBone gets a supermax for Shemp, Carrot Top and Mr. Bean...

Krox gets 2 JJC points for the wrong words to Your Song and for thinking I can be tamed...

jarnon gets a JJC point for calling me a Mecca shopper... or maybe saying I need a Life...

melly gets a JJC point for calling ma a bunny...

elwood gets a supermax for making me imagine his Image Bonus, which strained my brain and got him no credit....

Sprots gets a supermax for her pathetic lyrics guesses and for calling me a slacker with a dirty diaper (One of those is certainly true)....

Earl gets 3 JJC points for getting a new laptop just so she could play LS, Gunny calling me a dumbass (Does anyone else read my tagline?), and for clapclapclapclapclap....

Hottie was going to get 2 JJC points because I thought it was funny she guessed Train for #10 immediately after Earl mentioned it... but then Search did the same thing so I had to downgrade it to 1 JJCP for each (And no extras for Earl, because there are no prescient points in the LSWE)...

I think you gave me a couple extra. I looked back at the lyrics I was unsure of and found that I had botched 4, 5 & 13. I think you only counted one of 'em.
