Question for those who follow The Boneys..

#1 Post by T_Bone0806 » Thu Feb 15, 2018 2:29 pm

..both of you

The Boney Awards for 2017, my annual list of favorite songs and albums of the year just ended, is scheduled to appear this Sunday. Exact time to be determined (in other words, once I've gotten up and had my coffee).

In the previous ten years of Boney Awards, I've always posted the whole list at once. My question, for those who have an interest in delving into my choices, is this:

Would you prefer that, instead of posting all 80 songs and 10 albums at once (the songs alone will run close to 5 1/2 hours if you listen to all of them), I were to spread it out over 4 successive Sundays, 20 tunes at a time? That would give you more time to listen at your leisure I would think.

Either way is fine with me. Any input would be appreciated.

We'll see you this Sunday!

I like the idea of spreading the love out.

The Boneys are one of the highlights of my year.

I would appreciate the extra time to spread things out, although I will be impatient to find out the Top 10.:)

My vote is for extra time.

I like either path, whatever is easiest for you.

So excited for the list!

I like the idea of more time. Thanks!

That was a law enforcement phrase, something with which I'm sure you're quite familiar.

I know you have already decided to split up the Boneys (ouch!), but wanted to comment so you'd know there are many more than 2 of us who follow these each year.

I often do not get to them until later, so splitting them up is fine for me.

What I most wanted to say is that I am usually familiar with a lot of your selections, but you NEVER FAIL to turn me on to a new work by an old fave or something not on my radar at all. For that, I thank you, Mr. Bone!!!11

I also always enjoy getting the chance to call you "Mr. Bone."

My pleasure. It's the main reason I do it, sharing discoveries, along with how much I love talking about music. Once a DJ, etc.
I'm constantly hearing and reading "there's no good music being made anymore", and these lists are my way of saying "yes, there is..it's just harder finding it".

If only the ladies back in college had felt the same way....

Did I say that?

I just read back what I first wrote and wanted to clarify something. It sounds as if I was talking about ONE song or album. You always name several songs and several albums to which what I said applies.

Thanks again!

No worries. I never thought you meant otherwise. Thanks!
