Before I return to Wakanda tomorrow, let's check out some more of those sizzling seventies songs.

#30. The Love I Lost (Part 1), Harod Melvin & the Blue Notes (1973)

#29. Then Came You, Dionne Warwick & the Spinners (1974)

#28. I'll Take You There, the Staple Singers (1972)

Second time on the list for this iconic R&B group.

#27. Get Down, Gilbert O'Sullivan (1973)

#26. Rockin' Soul, the Hues Corporation (1974)

The same group who topped the charts with "Rock the Boat" followed up with this Top 20 hit.

#25. Theme from "Shaft", Isaac Hayes (1971)

One of the most iconic movie themes in history. You just can't go wrong with this funky Oscar winner. Isaac was a bad muther...

#24. Someday Never Comes, Creedence Clearwater Revival (1972)

The band's last Top 40 hit before they parted ways.

#23. Long As I Can See the Light, Creedence Clearwater Revival (1970)
Boney Hall of Fame: #244

A double dose of CCR today... and the B-side to my #75 choice of this half of the decade, "Lookin' Out My Back Door". I've mentioned before how much I love the dramatic sax in this song. By the way, if you've been keeping score, CCR is the first act to chart three songs on my Top 500.

#22. You Are the Sunshine of My Life, Stevie Wonder (1973)

Another one of Stevie's legendary love songs, as he gets his third entry on my list.

#21. Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe, Barry White (1974)

Classic baby-making music!

62 songs down, 20 songs to go in this half of the 1970s. We march into the Top 20 next Friday!
"[Drumpf's] name alone creates division and anger, whose words inspire dissension and hatred, and can't possibly 'Make America Great Again.'" --Kobe Bryant (1978-2020)

"In times of crisis, the wise build bridges. The foolish build barriers." --Chadwick Boseman (1976-2020)

Haven't been too many of those you've posted so far that I've flat out disliked, but there are a couple here.

I've always been Jeckyl & Hyde with The Spinners. I love I'll Be Around & Mighty Love, and quite like Could It Be I'm Falling In Love and One Of A Kind Love Affair, but really do not like Games People Play, Then Came You and especially Rubberband Man. No middle ground with them it seems.

Someday Never Comes is literally the ONLY CCR single I don't like. Fogerty's singing on that hits my ears as not only very whiny, but offkey as well. Maybe it's just me, but..
Long As I Can See The Light is another story, obviously. Wonderful song.

Never cared for Theme From Shaft nor have I ever been much of a Barry White fan. I AM a huge fan of Stevie, though, as anyone whose seen my All Time Favorites list has figured out.

I'll Take You There is one of those songs I didn't like back in the day but I love it now...there are a few of those "how in the hell did I NOT like this back then?" tunes now proudly occupying a place on my iPod.

Get Down and The Love I Lost are OK..I wouldn't change the station if they came on, and honestly I don't remember the Hues Corp. song..I don't think it got much play on local radio.

Looking forward to seeing your next installment.
