My son the Yellowjacket

#1 Post by Bob78164 » Wed Apr 25, 2018 4:10 pm

After considering all of his options and visiting 5 of the schools that accepted him, my son Sparky has decided to matriculate at the University of Rochester. His other visits were to UC Santa Barbara, UC Berkeley, RPI, and Case Western. I'm a very proud papa.

And yes, it appears that the school consistently renders its mascot's name as one word, not two. As a proud alumnus of Caltech (not Cal Tech), I'm sensitive to this issue. --Bob

Well done Sparky!

You didn't pick the one farthest from California, but good enough. ;)

While it's nice that your son is going to a school that has borrowed a famous nickname, let's get one thing perfectly clear.

This is the only real Yellow Jacket:

Congratulations to Sparky!

Whatever major he chooses, he'll certainly be learning what a real Winter feels like! 8)
