California's Non-Racist Republican Senate Candidat
First, let me preface this by saying that this is California, which has the most screwed-up election process in the country, where all candidates, regardless of party, run against each other in the primary and the top two advance to the general election. In practice, this means that he candidates who make it to the general election can be more a function of how many candidates from each party are running rather than their individual qualifications and you can get two Democrats or two Republicans facing off in the general election in what should be a competitive disctrict.
Having said that, the leading Republican candidate to oppose Diane Feinstein in November is Patrick Little. He's obviously not a racist, since, according to Flock, there are none of them anymore associated with right wingers or the Republican party. However, his political views seem a bit suspect, from calling Hitler a great leader, to talking about the swimming pools and other luxuries at Auschwitz to his stated political goal of "removing Jews from power." He calls himself the only America first candidate in California and vows "no more of Feinstein's jewish supremacist wars in Israel."
On his blog, he describes his policies as "counter-Semitism" whose goal is to keep America free from Jews and that the second amendment and strict bans on immigration are necessary to achieve that goal. Ironically, on the ballot, where each candidate is allowed a line to describe his or her occupation, Little lists his as "civil rights advocate."
What is surprising is that the most recent statewide poll, Little comes in second to Feinstein at 18% to Feinstein's 39%. His percentage is well above several other more traditional candidates for both parties. In particular, and I'm sure Spock will be interested about his beloved Central Valley, where real Americans live, Little and Feinstein are virtually tied. Moreover, in another recent poll, 46% of California's Republicans express a preference for Little.
Nope, no racists or deplorables here.

..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

That's just AH continuing to call me names. It makes him feel better about himself to 'cleverly' call me a racist.Beebs52 wrote:Who ever said there were no racist weirdos associated with any party?

The Republican party has publicly disavowed this candidate and repudiated his views. They can't stop him from running as a Republican, though.
There are a couple of traditional Republicans running, but most people here think the candidates in the general election will be Senator Feinstein and Kevin De Leon, the former President Pro Tem of the California Senate who is challenging Senator Feinstein from the left. --Bob

There's a theory that in a non-presidential year, with two Democrats running for both Senate and Governor, that might depress Republican turnout in the general election which could come into play in some Congressional races.Bob78164 wrote:The Republican party has publicly disavowed this candidate and repudiated his views. I'm not sure what effect Little would have on Republican turnout if he were running against Feinstein. I do think that would energize Democratic turnout and also possibly supply some Todd Akin moments for other races in various states.
