Since you prefer to be obtuse, a simple Google search will show you Jay Z is on the list of 'worst offenders' of misogynistic lyrics. You can pretend all you like that you weren't aware of the misogynistic nature of a lot of rap 'music' including his- just don't expect anyone with a brain to believe you. I'm not familiar with most of those publications, but I doubt they're particularly right-leaning. At least some of his 'lyrics' are from 2010, while President Obama was in the White House - not from 20 years prior.
Have you ever seen me try to play Lyrically Speaking? Please point me to Jay Z lyrics that you contend are misogynistic. --Bob
Google them for yourself, if you're truly interested.

You're the one who made the claim. Support it or admit that you can't.

When I talked about what Nugent had said and you professed ignorance, I simply put in a post the exact words I was talking about. Your turn. --Bob

Which shows you know how to Google. BiT already posted a video of JayZ. Like I said, if you actually care, look for yourself.

Got it. You made the claim but you can't support it. Which is pretty much what always happens in discussions with you -- when called on your mockery you simply tell me to look it up myself.

If you're right, you shouldn't have any trouble giving me examples. But I'm not doing your work for you. --Bob

Actually, you have used the I don't have time to research excuse before in various arguments. With something as ubiquitous as this subject you might want to reconsider your intransigence.

This isn't "I don't have time" (although I don't). This is, "She made the claim, so she has the burden of proof." Otherwise I'm facing a moving target because no matter what Jay Z lyric I find and how effectively I demonstrate it's innocuous, she always gets to say, "That's not the lyric I had in mind."

In this case, what I found in a quick search (as I noted above) said that some people characterize his lyrics as misogynistic while others contend these people are conflating mere vulgarity with actual misogyny. --Bob

If they were as popular as you think they are, there would be more than 2 images on the world-wide-web. Most every liberal (and many conservatives) that saw one of these would have taken a picture and shame-tweeted it, just as these 2 did. One of the articles reporting on the original tweet pluralized "shirt," yet the uncropped wide shot showed only the single guy wearing one.

I wasn't trying to defend her use of it there; I just pointed out that female comics in general can get away with more offensive comments about women than male comics can, just as black comics can use the N-word in routines and Muslim and Hispanic comics can make ethnic jokes that others can't.

Out of curiosity, did those women tell you that today, after the Samantha Bee incident, or was this something that they volunteered some time ago when, say, it was used to describe Hillary Clinton as opposed to Ivanka Trump?
Well before any of these. Totally non-political context, all.

Because on the entirety of the internet, there are only these 2 images of this vile shirt. You don't think there might be more pictures posted if there were millions, thousands, hundreds, or even 10 of these being worn in public?

What is it you see in the beer-guy picture? His shirt is spotless, too. The color is off because he is standing in the shade (note the other shadows on him). It is "wrinkled" because he is wearing another shirt underneath (see diagonal wrinkle from right shoulder towards abdomen). He has not pulled back the shoulders to fit correctly. That is why I suspect he just pulled it on for the picture (or at least, just before it was taken).

Here it is from Jay Z himself. Although I'm sure if you just explain how he's wrong (when you have time), he'll come around:

"Some [lyrics] become really profound when you see them in writing. Not 'Big Pimpin.' That's the exception," he told the Wall Street Journal in a candid new interview. "It was like, I can't believe I said that. And kept saying it. What kind of animal would say this sort of thing? Reading it is really harsh." The lyrics to "Big Pimpin' " describe Jay-Z's troubled relationship with women (in short: He wants them to look good, stay away from his money, and be available when he needs them), a subject he has abandoned since marrying Beyonce in 2008. In fact, Jay says all hip-hop needs now is love.
