5K: Glad to hear $2 is so rare. I've been carrying 2 of them around for years, for good luck.. I've had horrible luck. Maybe should rethink that?

$10s & $20s not rare. Too many rap-lyrics about "show me the Benjamins" for $50s to be that rare.

There was a lot of discussion about this on the J! board - apparently Holden Caulfield tells his story from a hospital in California, which is closer to Vegas than Kansas is.

But Catcher is set in NY.

But maybe BAM will have contestant back. If J! board people get their info to contestant.

That's precisely the issue - the question said "lived", and one could argue that the protagonist was living in California when telling the tale.

I hadn't read Catcher since I was a teenager. Obviously, neither had the question-writers.

I think contestant should get another chance because it was a poorly-written question.

Ben Franklin is on the $100 bill. The $50 features Ulysses S. Grant.

Tablet fingers strike twice in two days (and the first typo is in a post about a previous typo). Almost all my posts are from a laptop with a physical keyboard, but when I have to use my iPhone, I double-check because I always make mistakes. Numbers are the easiest to screw up because auto-correct is no help.

In the Columbia, SC area, $2 bills are somewhat common. The strip joints give them as change, probably to double the tips.

I know Eisenhower dollars were common in Vegas because casinos used them. Are strip clubs a major industry in Columbia?

I haven't been to a post office for stamps in ages, but our local offices used to (90's) give Susan B. Anthonys in change from their (stamp) vending machines. IIRC, they also took $20s and $10s and gave back $2 bills wherever possible.
