My dear friends, at what point will you all admit that your status and respect in most of the world has been flushed down a great golden toilet.

It will be very interesting to finally find out how much he has been bought for.

I had something to say about that on Facebook. It was directed to you and your fellow citizens. I hope it's appreciated. --Bob

If you read the communique you notice it's some very panoramic gobbledy gook mission statement. Groups love vague mission statements. The Guardian guy used "vapid", and while I probably might disagree with some of his views he nailed what my impression was-this was back in 2015, but still.

Peter Navarro, a trade adviser to President Donald Trump, escalated the White House's rebuke of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, calling him weak and dishonest on Sunday.

"There's a special place in hell for any foreign leader that engages in bad faith diplomacy with President Donald J. Trump and then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door," Navarro said on "Fox News Sunday." He continued, "And that's what bad faith Justin Trudeau did with that stunt press conference. That's what weak, dishonest Justin Trudeau did, and that comes right from Air Force One."

It sounds like trump is Navarro's puppet. He parrots Navarro perfectly.

Can you clear something up. How much does milk cost on Canada. Seems to be a lot of misinformation going around on that
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

That equates to about $3.69 USD per gallon. About 25% higher than in the U.S.($2.92)

Of course, Canadians pay considerable less for health care, medicine, college education, mortgage rates, beef, potatoes, bread, internet service, and house or apartment rent.

What's your point?

I can get it today for $1.89/gallon at the nearby Kroger. I was just putting the "official US average retail" out there. That would be about $2.42CAD. 1/2 of what Saucy is saying.

I wonder why.

Also, four liters is about 5 1/2% more than a gallon, which accounts for some of the difference as well.

My initial calculation included that if you are using my $2.42CAD for a gallon, that would be about $2.56CAD for 4 liters. Still about 1/2 of Saucy's $5.00.

Because the U.S. subsidizes the cost.

Let's be clear about this. Donny is accusing our allies of doing things they're just not doing. (Which makes it ironic, to say the least, for him to call Prime Minister Trudeau "dishonest.") The vast majority of U.S. exports to Canada pay no tariff at all. The average European tariff is 3%. Our trading partners (and historic allies) are not using the United States as their piggy bank. And when Donny is accusing our allies of doing things that they're just not doing, he's demonstrating irrationality and leaving them no alternative but to walk away from the table. --Bob

Are you saying that Donny is right and that I have my facts wrong? Tariff rates are public record.

Or are you just saying that it doesn't matter whether Donny is right or wrong when he's accusing our traditional allies of unfair trade practices and using those accusations as justification to start a trade war with them that will take a lot of money out of the pocket of American consumers and even more money out of the pockets of American manufacturers (and their employees) who will lose a lot of business? --Bob
