I wanna thank the friend who introduced me to garlic scapes

These are long green curly fronds from which the flower bud has been nipped. Then you nip off the scape, so the bulb, what we non-gardeners call the garlic cloves, can get bigger. Then you eat the scape, which is garlicky but mild. Er.

The current growing season in Maine is at "scapes ahoy" stage per my gardener friend.

Garlic is a wonderful thing. One of the 4 basic food groups for we Italians.

I've had pasta with garlic scape pesto. Yum! We have a restaurant here called the Wild Garlic Grill.

Yes, garlicky chives is close, but more a taste of garlic than chives have of onions.
