TMZ, Alex Trebek said he's thinking of retiring, possibly when his contact ends in 2020. He has two suggestions for the new host: Los Angeles Kings announcer Alex Faust and CNN commentator Laura Coates.
Coates tweeted:
Incredibly honored & humbled @Jeopardy Alex Trebek 1) knows who I am 2) thinks I'd be a great host of my fave game show ever that I grew up watching w/ my family & still watch w/ my own kids (who saw him say this & now think I'm a genius) #Dying

According to the hacked Sony emails, supposedly Anderson Cooper had it in the bag to be the next host...

Things could change by 2020, and Alex may even stick around after that. If Alex said he is leaving today, I have my doubts that in the current political climate anyone from CNN, Fox, etc. would get the nod.
