Like others, I disagreed with his politics, although not as much as some, but feel he was a man of integrity and bravery and was a true American hero.

No, I'm not having trouble with my reading comprehension. I just didn't phrase it accurately the first time around. I should have phrased it as "John McCain was the exact opposite of all the nice things we said about him when he ran against Obama."
