Longtime writer for the New York Times who gained fame after George W. Bush called him a "major-league a**hole" into a hot mic during the 2000 presidential campaign. David Letterman played and made references to the video dozens of times on his show. The comment also inspired the online Major-League A**hole Awards that were handed out weekly until 2012. (The creator of those awards was, in fact, me.)
