Is there a song called "Driver's Seat" or "in the Driver's Seat" or something like that?

Can this translate into DANCING ON THE CEILING, since we've got the wall and the floor accounted for?
Yep! Here's the clue that go with that song:

39. #2 hit from a popular 80's artist who had five #1's

Sniff 'N' The Tears had a song called "Driver's Seat" & that matches up with this clue:

37. 1979 song by a literal one hit wonder group

I'll be damned.

8. One of the first rock and roll hits ever

**23. Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy/Bad Company
*24. Fight the Power/Public Enemy
*25. Love Me Like a Rock/Paul Simon

I thought this had to be ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK if I could somehow make #24 yield clock. So I googled "public enemy clock" and damned if it didn't immediately tell me one of its members wears a clock around his neck.

I'll be damned.

All the definite clue solutions are correct... although, unless I missed it somewhere, 20 and 23 (which appeared in the post that broke the game open) still haven't had their intended interpretations in this game noted. The rest have all been interpreted correctly!

Three of the yet to be solved clues all work on the same principle which has yet to be uncovered... and all three have been correctly suggested by someone at some point in this game. Apparently that theme device wasn't as obvious as I thought it was...

Another of the unanswered clues is easily the most tenuous play on the theme of any in the game... but the visual as it appears in the song list was too good to pass up...

For #20, the key is not that Puff the Magic Dragon was seen as a drug song. It's that "Puff" and "Toke" are synomynous.

I confess I never quite understood how 23 worked.

I've been through all the posts again, and these seem to be the only suggested clues that I missed:
16. The second most popular rock band to form at The University of Illinois
Head East

19. The premier Southern rock act of the 21st Century
Lynyrd Skynyrd
#19 can't be right, since Lynyrd Skynyrd had their heyday in the previous century. The fact that the other one is Head East - and that we haven't yet figured out how to turn Union of the Snake into Western Union or Wild Wild Life into Wild Wild West - indicate that there's some principle behind the West/East thing we have to work out.

83. White Rabbit/Jefferson Airplane
84. Do You Believe in Love?/Huey Lewis and the News
85. You Can Leave Your Hat On/Joe Cocker
86. Born to Be Wild/Steppenwolf
87. Once Bitten Twice Shy/Great White
88. Don’t Fear the Reaper/Blue Oyster Cult

I'm not sure what it means, but there are a lot of animals in this cluster of six consecutive unused clues. Leaving out #84, we have a Rabbit, a Cocker (Spaniel?), a Wolf, a Shark, and an Oyster. Does it mean anything? I wonder.

Think I got it!

4. Can't Get It Out of My Head/ ELO
17. Wild Wild Life/Talking Heads
36. Union of the Snake/Duran Duran

In #4, the word Head appears at the end of the song title ... that is, at the far right, or EAST.
In #17 and #36, the words Wild Wild and Union appea at the beginning of the song title, or WEST.

That would yield Head East, Wild Wild West, and Western Union.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

And you are now down to seven solutions left to search for. All seven contain at least one key song still unused.... however, in verifying that fact, I just noticed there's a song on the consolidation list that is checked off that has not been used yet. While Robert Zimmerman's been the key to three different clues, you have not yet found a use for his song in the main game...

Well, that knocks out my idea that 3 AM goes with EARLY IN THE MORNING by Buddy Holly.
