Fireball's Fantastic 500 -- Early 1990s, Part II

#1 Post by Pastor Fireball » Sun Sep 23, 2018 2:05 pm

Since the rain has finally gone away after two days, I can get on my computer and submit the next set of my favorite tunes from the 1990s. Let's get on with this before the rain decides to return.

#59. Love Is All Around, Wet Wet Wet (1994)

This cover version of the 1967 hit from the Troggs spent 15 weeks at #1 on the UK singles chart, but made it only to #41 on the US Hot 100.

#58. Cry for Help, Rick Astley (1991)

Rickrolled again! This was Rick's last US Top 10 hit. Yes, he was still on the American charts in the 1990s.

#57. Live and Learn, Joe Public (1992)

Listen closely to parts of this melody and you will recognize a familiar chord from a song that appeared earlier in this series, Steely Dan's "Peg".

#56. Faithful, Go West (1992)

#55. Something to Believe In, Poison (1990)

#54. Even a Fool Can See, Peter Cetera (1992)

Yes, Peter was still recording in the 1990s. This song only made it to #68 on the Hot 100, but it went up to #2 on the Adult Contemporary chart.

#53. Everything, Jody Watley (1990)

#52. Hopelessly, Rick Astley (1993)

Another 1990s hit for Rick. In fact, this was hist last Top 40 hit in America.

#51. Because I Love You (The Postman Song), Stevie B (1990)

I'll be back on Friday (hopefully) for the next hits.
