In all honesty, I was never a fan of his voice. In fact, his solo hit, Hearts, is one of my least favorite songs of all time. I may have mentioned that once or twice. But he is a significant figure in rock history.

I knew him fairly well. He was the least egotistic member of Jefferson Airplane. I think he may have been the oldest member.

He sang "I saw you / comin' back to me" & I *love* his voice on that.
