Slightly-disappointing-ice-cream review

#1 Post by ghostjmf » Fri Sep 28, 2018 7:46 pm

So I had this craving for butter pecan. So Haagen Daz has this new flavor, bourbon praline. I knew if I didn't get it I would always wonder.

Sigh.

If it were one of those fancy-pants-parlor flavors, it would be real bourbon in there. I will go read if there even is a little. But I can't taste it.

It doesn't even satisfy the butter part of the butter pecan craving.

But its not like I'm going to throw it out or anything.

Dreyer's (Edy's back there) makes a great Butter Pecan.

Haagen Daz makes a really good butter pecan, which you can't always find at the bargain store. So I found it in the non-bargain store & then bought this instead.

They do list bourbon. They just didn't put in enough.

There's a way to fix that.

You should write them a strongly-worded letter and let them know that you're upset that their bourbon praline product tastes nothing like butter pecan.

I personally hate pieces of cookies in ice cream, & I do love cookies. Unless they're oreos, which I hate, & which get put in ice cream a *lot*. At least around here.

Yes. Enough with the oreos. We had some ice cream, maybe Kroger, that had snickerdoodles in it. It was tasty but not as much as Caramel Cone!

All about the sorbet over here. How can anything be more perfect than fruit and ice?

I guess with bourbon ... or maybe rum.

You want to try Ciao Bella, if you haven't aleady. Blood Orange & Limone. They have other flavors that are too sweet for me. The puckery ones are the best.

Also, as creamy as I want my ice cream to be, sorbet's got to be milkless. You csn feed it to your no-milk friends. Just fruit, sugar if you need it, freeze it & go.
