I wish every Democratic candidate was like Andrew Gillum. Tonight, he put Ron DeSantis in his place. This is what the Democratic Party needs more of instead of letting the Trumps and DeSantises walk over them by their being too nice.

They might need people to get his name right...

Do you mean being the subject of an FBI corruption investigation?

I can tell this post was effective because Esto felt compelled to take two different irrelevant swipes at it. As for the Hamilton non-issue, DeSantis tried to run with it over and over again in the debate. It didn't get very far.

DeSantis is desperate to make any of his BS stick to the wall. Every poll in the past two months has Gillum leading, apart from one poll that was conducted by Rick Scott's people. Three polls within the past week had Gillum up by at least 10 points, which is quite remarkable for any Democratic candidate in a purple state. Of course, this is provided that the citizens actually bother showing up to vote for Gillum.

The GOP is really soiling themselves over this race. Not only would a Gillum win break the Republicans' two-decade grip on the state government, but the big bonus would involve the upcoming census. Florida stands to gain at least one congressional seat in 2022, and having Gillum in the governor's mansion would ensure that the GOP couldn't rig the next congressional map. For that matter, the GOP also couldn't rig the next map for state legislative districts, so the days of "politics as usual" in Florida might finally come to an end.

You could not be more wrong. Your "prescience" is nearing Juchian levels.

A hit dog will holler: next example: Rep. Steve King (R - Iowa).

FiveThirtyEight currently has the seat as Likely Republican, with King's opponent having approximately one chance in seven of unseating him. If current projections are correct, that would make King the only remaining Republican in Iowa's delegation to the House. --Bob

Did I miss something? Is there anywhere in that 15-minute video where Mayor Gillum himself appears? Or anyone other than a handful of apparently low-ranking campaign volunteers?

I'm certainly not comforted by the Veritas bug in the corner. Isn't that one of the organizations notorious for editing videos to take quotes completely out of context in order to make them mean precisely the opposite of what was actually said? Or to put it in ways that Republicans might understand, for deliberately creating fake news? --Bob

They've been going around "volunteering" to work in Democratic campaigns (and misrepresenting who they are) in an effort to get gotcha moments from the Democratic candidates. One woman in Virginia was caught and thrown out of the offices.

They don't seem to have gotten anything from the candidates that isn't already out there in campaign speeches or position papers and, as Bob said, they do selectively edit things to try to make the Democrats look as bad as possible. It's the same Veritas who got caught last year trying to peddle a fake Roy Moore story to the Washington Post. Claire McCaskill has already called for an investigation.

My guess is that the people who would be influenced by this sort of sting video were already going to vote Republican anyway.

Wow, you Democrats go in style! Even low-ranking campaign volunteers get offices and desks!

Well, to be fair, they are all low ranking besides Hillary.

Wow, that campaign keeps having to distance themselves from their workers:

Don’t forget about this:

Shots fired into Volusia County Republican Party satellite office, police say

Same week as a Florida man mailed pipe bombs and another one shot a yoga school (who hates yoga?). All this is just one state.

Actions like these are not only reprehensible, but also sway voters against your side.
