RIH Whitey Bulger

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Tue Oct 30, 2018 11:44 am

Notorious Boston gangster who spent 16 years on the loose while on the FBI's ten most wanted list before finally being captured and convicted of his involvement in 11 murders (probably no where near the number he was involved in). Despite his advanced age, the FBI is investigating his death. He had been serving time in Florida before being transferred to a West Virginia prison the day before he died (reasons not yet given).

Age 89.

I rarely use the RIH moniker but in this case it's totally appropriate.
Nonetheless, there's still in element in South Boston that reveres this man.

Turns out that Whitey Bulger went out in a manner much like many of his victims:
The inmates who brutally murdered mob boss James “Whitey” Bulger moved out of the view of surveillance cameras before pummeling him to death using a padlock stuffed inside a sock until he was “unrecognizable,” law-enforcement officials have revealed. However, cameras caught at least two inmates rolling Bulger, 89, who was in a wheelchair, into the corner where he was beaten to death. Bulger’s eyes were dislodged from his head although it’s not known if his attackers gouged them out or if they were knocked out of his skull by the beating. “They apparently tuned him up to the point where he was unrecognizable,” said one anonymous law-enforcement official said to be familiar with the details

..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

3 men charged in Whitey Bulger's killing

BOSTON — Three men, including a Mafia hitman, have been charged in the killing of notorious Boston crime boss James “Whitey” Bulger in a West Virginia prison, the Justice Department said Thursday.

The charges against Fotios “Freddy” Geas, Paul J. DeCologero and Sean McKinnon come nearly four years after Bulger’s killing, which raised questions about why the known “snitch” was placed in the general population instead of more protective housing. The men were charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

Bulger was beaten to death at USP Hazelton in October 2018 hours after he was transferred from a prison in Florida, where he had been serving a life sentence for 11 murders and other crimes. Prosecutors allege Geas and DeCologero struck Bulger in the head multiple times and caused his death.

My BFF's ex worked in a prison where he had responsibility for inmates in what are loosely referred to as "supermax areas." He told her that those inmates spent most of their time thinking up ways to attack the guards. When he retired, he had a 10 year old scar from a knife wound; an inmate tried to cut his throat.
