RIP Sondra Locke

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Fri Dec 14, 2018 5:28 am

Actress best known for several movies she made with then-boyfriend Clint Eastwood. She's one of a few actors who received an Oscar nomination for their first film. Locke actually died of cancer a month ago but the death was just made public. Ironically, it comes on the same day as the premiere of what may well be Clint's last film as an actor, The Mule.

Age 74.

She was brilliant in The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter. It's a shame she never fully lived up to that start.

Darn it, best I can do for Ms. Locke is a rating of OK. To be fair, I haven't seen her Oscar-nominated performance, and probably won't.

I glanced through one article about how she prevailed in a lawsuit over the treatment she got from Eastwood and Warner Bros. and was happy for her.
