The Thousand Oaks shootings

It turns out that was rather closer to home than I'd realized. As far as I know, no one I know was involved. But the place where it happened is literally next door to the local bridge club and the bridge community in these parts is pretty tight-knit. If the timing had been different, it wouldn't surprise me at all to learn that bridge players were among the victims. --Bob
