Fireball's Fantastic 500 -- Late 1990s, Part II

Don't worry. I haven't been so glued to MSNBC during the past 72 hours that I've completely forgotten about my music list. Appropriately, this section of the countdown is well represented by strong women--seven women total, in fact. Here you go!

#21. Champagne Supernova, Oasis (1996)

#20. Sweetest Thing, U2 (1998)

#19. For You I Will, Monica (1996)

Diane Warren makes her sixth appearance in my countdown with the second most well-known original song from the Space Jam soundtrack.

#18. All My Life, K-Ci & JoJo (1998)

This is an interesting pick for me. Remember back in the Late 1980s list, when I mentioned that Atlantic Starr's "Always" was my wedding song? Well, this song was my first wedding song... from my first marriage. Despite this being such a brilliant song, its connection to my broken relationship knocked it down a few pegs. Fun fact: The album on which this song appears is one of the few physical CDs that I still own in 2018.

#17. As I Lay Me Down, Sophie B. Hawkins (1995)

#16. I Go Blind, Hootie & the Blowfish (1995)

Not a song about the side effects of masturbation.

#15. This Is How We Do It, Montell Jordan (1995)

One of the most recognizable and most beloved party songs of the 1990s.

#14. Light in Your Eyes, Blessid Union of Souls (1998)

#13. Don't Let Go (Love), En Vogue (1997)

#12. Change the World, Eric Clapton f/ Babyface (1996)

We're getting a bit ahead of ourselves with the title, but changing the House of Representatives is a good start.

#11. I Know, Dionne Farris (1995)

Next week, it's the top ten! Yeah, can you believe that we will start looking at the current millennium in just two weeks?
