Lyrically Speaking - 1/28/19

#1 Post by littlebeast13 » Mon Jan 28, 2019 7:33 am

If today happens to be the anniversary of your birth..... well then, happy birthday! If that's not the case.... well, then you can feel like it's your special day with this LSWE game themed around that most selfish of all celebrations, the birthday! This game is guaranteed to be more fun than a Chuck E. Cheese full of 8 year olds off their Ritalin...

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist...

1. Tonight's the night I've waited for
Because you're not a baby anymore
You've turned into the prettiest girl I've ever seen

2. 'Cause when it comes to playing basketball
I'm always last to be picked
And in some cases never picked at all

3. Satin and lace, isn't it a pity
Didn't find time to call
Ready or not, gonna make it to the city
This is the night to go to the celebrity ball

4. I've been watching you for days, now baby
I just love your sexy ways, now baby
You know our love will never stop, now baby
Just put your loving in my box, now baby

5. She's playing with her jewelry
She's putting up her hair
She's touring the facility
And picking up slack

6. Playin' my records, keep dancin' all night
Leave me alone for a while
'Till Johnny's dancin' with me
I've got no reason to smile

7. I saw your eyes
And you made me smile
For a little while
I was falling in love

8. Loneliness was tough
The toughest role you ever played
Hollywood created a superstar
And pain was the price you paid

9. No more sick, whiskey dick, no more battles for me
You'll be calling a trick, 'cause you'll no longer sleep

10. Lullabies, look in your eyes,
Run around the same old town.
Doesn't mean that much to me
To mean that much to you.

11. To worry, worry, super-scurry
Call the troops out in a hurry
This is what we've waited for
This is it boys, this is war

12. I got good lemonade, ah, dixie cups
All flavors and push ups too

Me and Wiki didn't know any of the songs today, darn it. But that didn't stop Wiki from looking and looking for birthday cakes for dogs. We both were astonished at the amazing array of birthday cakes for sale that were meant for dogs to eat. They come in all kinds of flavors, like carrot cake and vegetarian and sirloin-buffalo. Yum. I do not know why my mom has kept that important knowledge from us. Maybe she is eating them all herself, or maybe she just needs a little more education about the proper role and responsibilities of a dog mom.

I wish we could show you some of these culinary masterpieces, but I can't make any of them show up in this post. I remember the good old days when you could google a picture and get a link with the proper ending and all that, but not any more. I plan to write Mr. Google a strict but persuasive letter to change his site back to showing more cooperative photographs.

We also decided that not only were dog birthday parties an excellent idea, but we should get them seven times a year. With cakes and presents. If any of you know my mom, you should write her a strict but persuasive email and tell her. In a modern world, dogs are not just dogs any more. We are Birthday Girls!

My sister also found a US corporation that calls itself The Farting Dog Company, which sells things. They have a stuffed Farting Sloth toy that I fancy greatly. Instead of having a squeaker, the sloth makes a fart noise. That would make me and Wiki laff and laff. You may think of me and Wiki as sophisticated young ladies, but we have our silly moments.

1. Tonight's the night I've waited for
Because you're not a baby anymore
You've turned into the prettiest girl I've ever seen
Happy Birthday Sweet 16 - Neil Sedaka

2. 'Cause when it comes to playing basketball
I'm always last to be picked
And in some cases never picked at all
I Wish - Skee Lo (One of the best damned hip hop songs ever...)

3. Satin and lace, isn't it a pity
Didn't find time to call
Ready or not, gonna make it to the city
This is the night to go to the celebrity ball
Celebrate - Three Do(N)g Night (Or exploding dongs... which reminds me, I got a call yesterday that came up on the Caller ID "Charles Negron"...)

4. I've been watching you for days, now baby
I just love your sexy ways, now baby
You know our love will never stop, now baby
Just put your loving in my box, now baby
Wrap It Up - Fabulous Thunderbirds (Also an old group and apparently the Eurythmics...)

5. She's playing with her jewelry
She's putting up her hair
She's touring the facility
And picking up slack
Short Skirt, Long Jacket - Cake (No points for anyone who screwed up the title!)

6. Playin' my records, keep dancin' all night
Leave me alone for a while
'Till Johnny's dancin' with me
I've got no reason to smile
It's My Party - Leslie Gore

7. I saw your eyes
And you made me smile
For a little while
I was falling in love
Space Age Love Song - A Flock of Seagulls (One of the first videos I ever saw on VH-1 Classic during the channel's early days in 2002...)

8. Loneliness was tough
The toughest role you ever played
Hollywood created a superstar
And pain was the price you paid
Candle in the Wind - Elton John

9. No more sick, whiskey dick, no more battles for me
You'll be calling a trick, 'cause you'll no longer sleep
Blow Me - Pink (This song validates my feelings about title parentheticals...)

10. Lullabies, look in your eyes,
Run around the same old town.
Doesn't mean that much to me
To mean that much to you.
Old Man - Neil Young

11. To worry, worry, super-scurry
Call the troops out in a hurry
This is what we've waited for
This is it boys, this is war
99 Red Balloons - Nena (Absolutely agree with Anon... the English version of this song was fine on its own. If a song's playing in German, it better damned well be Falco...)

12. I got good lemonade, ah, dixie cups
All flavors and push ups too
Ice Cream Man - Van Halen (No innuendo intended in this song, I'd imagine.... )

Image Bonus: Show me the bestest birthday cake ever!

This was a very hard choice since there were many great cakes submitted for my approval! In the end, Kitty Sandwich told me he'd cut my balls off if I didn't choose Panic's giant pile of shit cake for the IBB. Don't forget to pass out the Charmin napkins...

JJC Points:

Krox gets 3 JJC points for this:

Image

jarnon gets a JJC point for sucking up...

Panic gets a supermax for Fabulouso, SSS and organic cakes...

Weasel gets a JJC point for a birthday cake we'd all love to have...

frank gets 2 JJC points for Marilyn Monroe's stand-in...

AD gets 2 JJC points because dongs and nuts go together like chocolate and peanut butter...

TBone gets 3 JJC points for political whiskey dick and the Stooges ruining the cake...

Vandal gets 2 JJC points for a modest cake proposal...

Sprots gets 3 JJC points for having extreme difficulty grasping the easy theme of the game, and for using an image that nobody who doesn't thoroughly read my blog would understand why it fits this game...

melly gets 2 JJC points for Rickrolling me...

Earl gets 2 JJC points which she should donate to poor, poor Nathania...

Lizbit and Wiki gets a supermax for their excellent research. Though I would recommend sternly worded letters rather than strict but persuasive...

Esto gets 2 JJC points for getting shitfaced on his birthday and for Beasts...

Bob gets a JJC point for being really hungry...

Anon gets 3 JJC points for agreeing with me on Nena, peeping on nudists, and for copying off of everyone's paper all the time...

I did not have any trouble grasping the theme! I had trouble getting songs that have nothing to do with birthdays! And I didn't get my prescience points either! And I didn't get my spelling points for Lesley Gore! And it's a good thing i can spell, because the Spellebration is tomorrow night! Lesley probably won't be one of the words, though . . .
