Emanuel Ax is a very close match to Yo Yo Ma; Emanuel Cleaver is not that close a match to Maxine Waters. But it sure would help if we could figure out that last clue.

I've tried googling an answer to that last clue in every combination I can think of. I've tried working backwards from possible matches. Nothing is coming.

I've got a possibility which would throw one of our earlier guesses off. I was the one who suggested matching Edith Head and Angela Lansbury because Head designed gowns for Lansbury. But frankly she designed gowns for half the actresses in Hollywood of that era. I've got a better match for Lansbury.

Angela Lansbury + Rye (Whiskey) = Angela Rye, goes with Maxine Waters.

I'm not sure if Edith Head is right or not, but I feel good about Angela Rye.

I like it! (I also still dislike the Billy Crystal/Robert Urich match.)

This could be Dinah Shore. The age is right and the 15 minute radio show is right, but it was for WGM radio in Nashville.
Doris Day also almost fits this clue, but not quite.
mrkelley23 wrote:If Drake could be Aubrey Graham, then it's possible DuBois could be William.
TV composer William Loose (Insecure) wrote for Doris Day. Edith Head (Leader) designed for Dinah Shore. Billy Crystal (Glass) was on The Dinah Shore Show. But poor Ben Bradlee is still left out.

One down; one to go. I figured this woman had to go with Edith Head as having some sort of special relationship and I was right. This is Dorothy Lamour. Head first gained notice for designing Lamour's famous sarong.

That leaves (unless we've messed up somewhere else): Ben Bradlee, WEB Dubois and Insecure.

Got It!

Ben Jealous was the recent President of the NAACP, which was founded by W.E.B. DuBois.

Yay!

It was fitting that you finished this one off, SSS, since you were the one who finally figured out the Tangredi. Good work!

And now I can post my new game with a clear conscience.
