Lyrically Speaking - 1/15/19

#1 Post by littlebeast13 » Tue Jan 15, 2019 7:47 am

How about a little Tuesday Wordplay? You remember how that works now, don't you? What, you've forgotten? Because I don't keep the other days themed like I used to? Whatever. Each of the songs below has a word in common in their titles. Both this game and Monday's game will close around this time tomorrow morning...

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist...

1. Outside, a masquerade
Inside, my hope is fading
I`m just a clown,
Since you put me down

2. In the mist
Of my endless search
The best in life
Becomes clear
The rest just begins
To fade by itself
That's a trick I learned
Though it took so long

3. Another day passes
As the night closes in
The red light goes on to say
It`s time to begin

4. But watch out now
I`m gonna get there
We`ll be together
For just a little while

5. I'll find my way
Through night and day
Cause I know I just can't stay

6. It is the evening of the day
I sit and watch the children play
Smiling faces I can see but not for me

7. But you always walk back in
Like you did today
Acting like you
Never even went away

8. If we could start anew
I wouldn`t hesitate
I`d gladly take you back
And tempt the hand of fate

9. I'll sit around and drink a few more beers
Until the memory just disappears

10. No sunshine, no moonlight
No stardust, no sign of romance
We don't stand a chance

11. Now if I appear to be carefree
It's only to camouflage my sadness
In order to shield my pride
I try To cover this hurt with a show of gladness

12. They said your cheating heart
Will make me cry
And like a fool
I gave it a try

Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist that contains the magic word of the day in the title.

All you gotta do, Melly, is what Vandal did. Just delete all the characters that come after gif. Same with jpg, if you come across an image that has extra stuff after the jpg.

He also took out the [url]s.

I almost went to college with Iron Eyes Cody's grandson. He was quite a bit younger, though. I think I would have needed to take 15 years to graduate.

The Tracks of My Tears - Smokey & the Ms, Linda Ronstadt

2. In the mist
Of my endless search
The best in life
Becomes clear
The rest just begins
To fade by itself
That's a trick I learned
Though it took so long

Bitter Tears - INXS

3. Another day passes
As the night closes in
The red light goes on to say
It`s time to begin

4. But watch out now
I`m gonna get there
We`ll be together
For just a little while

96 Tears - ? and the Mysterians, The Stranglers

5. I'll find my way
Through night and day
Cause I know I just can't stay

Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton (there goes my Krox)

6. It is the evening of the day
I sit and watch the children play
Smiling faces I can see but not for me

As Tears Go By - The Stones

7. But you always walk back in
Like you did today
Acting like you
Never even went away

Here Come Those Tears Again - Jackson Browne

8. If we could start anew
I wouldn`t hesitate
I`d gladly take you back
And tempt the hand of fate

9. I'll sit around and drink a few more beers
Until the memory just disappears

10. No sunshine, no moonlight
No stardust, no sign of romance
We don't stand a chance

11. Now if I appear to be carefree
It's only to camouflage my sadness
In order to shield my pride
I try To cover this hurt with a show of gladness

Tears of a Clown - Smokey & the Ms, English Beat, The Flying Pickets

12. They said your cheating heart
Will make me cry
And like a fool
I gave it a try

Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist that contains the magic word of the day in the title.

Tears Are Not Enough - ABC

Image Bonus: If you know the word of the day, show me a fitting image!
