Blood clot in left eye

#1 Post by ghostjmf » Wed Jan 16, 2019 11:45 am

very near the optic nerve.

Eye doctor tells me.

Also says "it should dissipate over time. Don't look it up. It will scare you".

Yeah, like I'm not gonna (look it up).

Happens to diabetics.

If it overtakes the nerve, my vision will go blurry in that eye.

I didn't even know it was there 'til today.

Isn't old age fun.

It ain't for sissies, for sure. Still beats the alternative, afaik..

Doesn't help that that stuff they dilate both pupils with gives me blurry vision in *both* eyes. Stuff went in about 10:30am, its now 2:24pm, eyes still blurred.

But I already knew that in me that stuff lasts & lasts.

I had something similar happen a year ago (damage to the nerve that controls the eye muscles) and the doctors said it would go away and it did. So just give it time.

Good luck and best wishes.

I don't have optic nerve involvement yet. I went in a year late (I *know*) for my yearly eye exam & doc warned me what *could* happen.

How to avoid this is, apparently, "Don't be diabetic".

Doc asked if I have high blood pressure but I do not. Am already on one drug to lower blood pressure even further & am refusing statin for bad things it can do, including make diabetes worse. Maybe I should take it.

I have always thought that old blues song "I would rather go blind" is just a crock of sh*t.
