Lyrically Speaking - 1/18/19

#1 Post by littlebeast13 » Fri Jan 18, 2019 2:28 am

Here's an LSWE game I've been wanting to put together almost literally since the beginning of this series, and I've finally got it filled out to post! If this game isn't the definition of cool, I don't know what is...

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist, 3 points for the theme...

1. So come on Jack be nimble, Jack be quick
Jack Flash sat on a candlestick
'cause fire is the devil's only friend

2. Hold on to sixteen as long as you can
Changes come around real soon
Make us women and men

3. When all else fails and you long to be
Something better than you are today
I know a place where you can get away
It's called a dance floor, and here's what it's for

4. With my favorite jeans
And a cheap guitar
I ran off chasing a distant star
If Buddy Holly could make it that far
I figured I could too

5. Hey shout, summertime blues,
Jump up and down in my blue suede shoes

6. Little Rock, Pasternak,
Mickey Mantle, Kerouac

7. I'll need a credit card that's got no limit
And a big black jet with a bedroom in it
Gonna join the mile high club
At thirty-seven thousand feet

8. Wish for you on a falling star
Wondering where you are
Do I ever cross your mind
In the warm sunshine

9. Sugar plum fairy came and hit the streets
Looking for soul food and a place to eat
Went to the Apollo, you should have seen him go go go

10. Well I ain't first class
But I ain't white trash
I'm wild and a little crazy too

11. All this energy calling me
Back where it comes from
It`s such a crude attitude
It`s back where it belongs

12. Midnight, you come and pick me up, no headlights
Long drive, could end in burning flames or paradise

Theme?

Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist that fits the theme of today's game.

Image Bonus: If you know the theme, show me a fitting image!

Do you mean your entire LSWE series or this year's model?

I got the songs I know, but am nowhere near getting the theme yet.

Me and Wiki know one! I'm so excited. This song is We Didn't Start the Fire, by Mr. Billy Joel. I don't actually know all the words to that song, but I know the rhythm, and these words fit perfectly. My big sis Annie always told me that the rhythm of lyrics counted as much as the notes in the music for many songs. (She also claimed that Mr. Mozart didn't need lyrics for his songs, but she always cut him a lot of slack.)

We are not sure about the theme, but Wiki likes this photo best for today. She says the theme might be "a pretty girl." It looks like Wiki, but it's not. You can tell because the bunny slippers still have ears and faces. Wiki would have chewed those off faster than mom could click the shutter of the camera.

Yeah, me too. But fortunately, I already have that reputation. So when I actually do get something it's a WONDERFUL SURPRIZE!!!

Dearest Lizbit --

I'm so happy to know what Wiki looks like, even if I never get to meet her paw to hand. She is a pretty girl.

Good luck on getting two songs next time. Sometimes that's all I can hope for too.
