A Republican border proposal I can support

Seriously. This describes Rep. Will Hurd's (R Tex.) proposal to lay 2000 miles of fiber optic line along the border. Not only will it assist in detecting border-crossers (and perhaps even tracking them until the Border Patrol, sometimes hours away, can respond), but it also can make high-speed Internet available to rural border communities. --Bob

They'd love that in far southern Arizona, e.g. Nogales; the Internet is terrible down there.
