Li'l Spock is Excited-NDSU to the Dance

Li'l Spock is a manager for the NDSU Basketball Team. Last night, they unexpectedly won the Summit League Tournament and punched a ticket to the Big Dance.
They will be a 16 seed-spec is that they will play Virginia.
They were a 4 seed (out of eight) at the Summit Tournament.

Grumble! NDSU made The Dance by beating Nebraska-Omaha, who was the #2 seed.
Would have been interesting if UNO made the tournament, and Creighton and Nebraska did not.
There were a couple Nebraska kids that helped NDSU win (Samuelson and Greisel) so I guess we need to do a better job of in-state recruiting.

Being a 16-seed and playing Virginia can be a good omen.

We watched.
I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited to see that.
Spock - I thought I saw Nathan. Was he there?

Yep, I don't think he was working, but he was right with the team in the after-celebration.
We kept laughing about how young and short he looked. My favorite was when he reached WAY up to tap Rocky Cruizer on the shoulder.
In a way, my heart breaks for him some. Put 6 inches on him, and with his basketball heart and smarts and love for the game, he would be playing somewhere.

Regarding Nebraska being under-recruited by Nebraska schools. Nebraska kids have played a pretty big role in NDSU's string of 7 of 8 (I think, I lose track) FCS Football Championships.
And, in basketball, not to mention SDSU being the only team to catch Mike Daum, the farm kid from western Nebraska that everybody else missed.

That's when I realized it was him!!!
He will make a fine coach someday.
