Big J's new job

he was having real issues with the scheduler at his previous job at a resort. She seemed to think that her daughter, niece, and niece's friend should have full shifts, and that Big J could get by with 3, 4 hours shifts per week. Management didn't want to rock the boat, so he left their employ.

Applied online last night to a local yacht detailing and repair company, they called this morning, he interviewed this afternoon, and starts tomorrow. They (after 3 months probation) provide skills training, support for trades training, benefits etc. It's full time, Mon - Fri, 40 hours, even at minimum to start, $12.45 per hour.

He has so much confidence now, and I am so proud.

Sounds like James earned every bit of that confidence. That's great to hear. I'm happy for both of you. --Bob

So now James is the one rocking the boats. :)

That sounds like a great opportunity. I'm happy for him. Don't let him underestimate the value of a Mon-Fri full time job...no weekends. That's real.

As you should be. Congrats to both of you.

Excellent! Is it seasonal?

Good for him for standing up for himself.

No, it is a permanent position, with lots of growth potential. They will (if he makes the 3 months) sponsor him to apprenticeship programs in marine trades, welding, ship repairs etc.

Well done, James.

I remember the worries and concerns you had when he was a youngun. Seems he turned out ok. WELL ABOVE OK, actually.

Well done, Saucy.
