I bet he has a limit, like 5 or 7 mill, at which point he'll "lose".
You saying he'll take a dive?Beebs52 wrote:I bet he has a limit, like 5 or 7 mill, at which point he'll "lose".
Nancy Zerg playing Ken Jennings. --BobBackInTex wrote:You saying he'll take a dive?Beebs52 wrote:I bet he has a limit, like 5 or 7 mill, at which point he'll "lose".
I feel for the other contestants. It's like watching:
- The Washington Generals play the Harlem Globetrotters
- Mercer play Alabama in football
- The 1962 Mets play the 1998 Yankees
- Pee Wee Herman fighting Connor McGregor
Why would he get bored? He's a professional gambler. If he can sit through hours and hours of playing cards, he can certainly sit through games of J!, where the pots are bigger and he doesn't even have to ante up to play.mellytu74 wrote:He's probably going to be the only real threat to Holzhauer until Holzhauer decides he's bored.
A misfire on a daily double when matched against another good player would do it. By now, he's lost the element of surprise with his opponents, who should be able to adopt his tacticsmellytu74 wrote:That Sports Information Director came awfully close, though.

I think not yet. My understanding is that virtually all of this season's episodes were taped before his shows started to air. --Bobsilverscreenselect wrote:A misfire on a daily double when matched against another good player would do it. One thing is for certain. When he does lose, there will be plenty of hints if not outright spoilers circulating around the Internet. I knew when Ken Jennings was going to lose because of the hints and leaks I picked up on and that was well before today's social-media crazy era.Bob78164 wrote: My understanding is that virtually all of this season's episodes were taped before his shows started to air. --Bob
The show must have all sorts of people contacting them, saying, "Put me on! I can beat him!" Of course, it doesn't work that way.silverscreenselect wrote:One thing is for certain. You need a DVR.SportsFan68 wrote:I watch whenever I'm home, and I always assess the chances of the challengers. So far, I've given one person a good chance, but as always (so far anyway), it didn't work out.
I can't watch tonight. I'll check in later and see how he did.
I ain't either.Vandal wrote:From Twitter and USA Today:

.Spoiler
Allegedly, all three contestants were correct in Final Jeopardy, but James' wager was insufficient to continue his amazing winning streak

We just thought it odd he didn't wager enough to cover in event she missed the final.
He was, what, five years old then? I think I could have beaten him, too!Bob Juch wrote:The show must have all sorts of people contacting them, saying, "Put me on! I can beat him!" Of course, it doesn't work that way.
I'd have given him a good competition 30 years ago.
