Sad news from the Spiffdom
Yesterday, I got one of those phone calls that you hope you never get.
My oldest stepson Chris Lee -- Judy's oldest boy -- had died in Berlin unexpectedly at age 39. He (and one of his brothers) work in Berlin, Germany with the hockey team that their father is GM of. I haven't heard (or perhaps haven't been told) of what caused the death. He left behind his wife and three young children.

Unfortunately, all the reports are in German papers; Google Chrome does automatically translate, such that it is.
Eisbären Berlin Much grief for U20 coach Chris Lee
Berlin - Ice Hockey message brutal of the polar bears. Chris Lee, head coach of the U20 team of polar bears Juniors, is dead. The son of longtime EHC maker Peter John Lee (63) was only 39 years old. He leaves behind his wife Sophie and three children.
Chris Lee started his coaching career in 2005 as Assistant to the DNB team of Polar Bears Juniors. From 2009 to 2013, he was mainly responsible for the regional league and senior league team of FASS Berlin and in 2014 took over the head coaching position at the ice pirate Crimmitschau in the DEL2. In 2017, he returned as head coach to the DNL team of Juniors, which he supervised until recently.
"The polar bears and polar bears Juniors will remember Chris as extremely friendly people with infinite love of ice hockey. We will miss him. Our thoughts are with his family, relatives and friends. We ask you to respect the privacy of all relatives, "it says in the press release of the association.
I talked briefly online with Jeremy, his brother that lives in Berlin also. He said this is tougher than when he lost his mom.
Please pray for his wife Sophie and their kids through this tough time. Thanks.

Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I’m terribly sorry for your loss. Heartbreaking.
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.
