Stolen password

I found a message in the spam folder for my Hotmail account saying that the sender knew one of my passwords, which he stated correctly, and then went on to say that he had used it to review my viewing history but would happily forget about it for $100,000.

I blocked the sender and changed my password. Did I do enough? Any help appreciated.

Contact the FBI. That's a federal crime. And don't delete the e-mail. There could be metadata that might help track the sender.

Your viewing history of what? Your password could have been exposed due to a data breach but that's not going to let them see your browser history unless you used that password for more than one account, and you know not to do that, right?

This link will allow you to see if your accounts have been exposed:

The first one I got was deleted when I told Hotmail to block the sender. It was much more professional than this one.

As it happens, I did use the same password on another site -- this one. I am about it change it to something unique.

Go away, Armenians.

Hi, I know one of your passwords is: ********** - but not only that!

Your computer was infected with my private malware, because your browser wasn't updated / patched, in such case it's enough to just visit some website where my iframe is placed to get automatically infected, if you want to find out more - Google: "Drive-by exploit".

My malware gave me full access to all your accounts (see password above), full control over your computer and it was possible for me to spy on you over your webcam.

I collected all your private data, recorded few videos of you (through your webcam) and I RECORDED YOU SATISFYING YOURSELF!

I can publish all your private data everywhere, including the darknet, where the very sick people are and the videos of you, send them to your contacts, post them on social networks and everywhere else!

Only you can prevent me from doing this and only I can help you out, there are no traces left, as I removed my malware after my job was done and this email(s) has been sent from some hacked server...

The only way to stop me, is to pay exactly 800$ in bitcoin (BTC).

It's a very good offer, compared to all that HORRIBLE shit that will happen if you don't pay!

You can easily buy bitcoin here: www.paxful.com , www.coinbase.com , or check for bitcoin ATM near you, or Google for other exchanger.
You can send the bitcoin directly to my wallet, or create your own wallet first here: www.login.blockchain.com/en/#/signup/ , then receive and send to mine.

My bitcoin wallet is: 1MX8BUf7R4rE7xLoaVMyiceX8DE8D3aFQg

Copy and paste it, it's (cAsE-sEnSEtiVE)

You got 3 days time.

As I got access to this email account, I will know if this email has already been read.
If you get this email multiple times, it's to make sure that you read it, my mailer script is configured like this and after payment you can ignore it.
After receiving the payment, I remove all your data and you can life your live in peace like before.

Next time update your browser before browsing the web!

I would like Facebook to stop offering to show me "actors who started their career in porn". You have options to block most Facebook crap these days, but somehow, that one has no such options.

Either I've been hacked or Facebook has...

I checked that and found that an old e-mail address I haven't used in a couple years showed up as having been exposed. Should I be concerned about that?

Some of the breaches have exposed a lot of personal information; the listing says which.

I have free credit monitoring (for life?) from both the USOPM and Equifax thanks to their breaches.
