the eyes have it

#1 Post by earendel » Tue Aug 29, 2023 7:12 am

Or, more accurately, the right eye has it. I've developed wet macular degeneration, which has caused me to lose partial vision (imagine a computer screen with missing pixels right in the center. My left eye has cataracts (actually, both eyes do) so it makes it hard to read or see things clearly. I went to a retinal specialist yesterday to begin a series of injections that she says will restore the vision. Then I will have to have an injection every 4 weeks, and eventually I will have to have regular injections every 12 weeks. Meanwhile, I'm trying to get my ophthalmologist to do cataract surgery on my left eye so that I can have clearer vision, but he wants to wait until my MD has stabilized.

Here's hoping for optimal outcome, Ear.

I'm glad it's fixable.
