RIP Vernor Vinge
Hugo-winning science fiction writer Vernor Vinge has passed away at age 79 from a progressive form of Parkinson's Disease. Vinge wrote science fiction classics including A Fire upon the Depp, A Deepness in the Sky, and Marooned in Real Time. His 1981 story "True Names" is often credited as being the first fleshed-out version of cyberspace. --Bob
