Late Night with the Devil

This movie is in theaters right now, but it will be worth a watch when it gets to streaming for its originality. It's another found footage film about the "infamous" final broadcast of a late night host who was consistently second in the ratings to Johnny Carson in the 1970s. He's been told he needs to boost his ratings during sweeps week... or else. Most of the film is his supposed final broadcast, the Halloween special. During the commercial breaks, you get to see backstage footage (in black-and-white) of the host and guests getting ready for the next segment. His guests for his special include a teenage girl who has supposedly been possessed by a demon and a professional debunker, a stage magician who exposes fake psychics and spiritualists and the like (like the Amazing Randi). The highlight of the show occurs when the host asks the girl and her guardian, a parapsychologist, to make the demon appear. The movie's title will give you a big clue about what happens next.

While the movie is fairly standard horror, it's a good spoof of late night TV of that era, complete with a goofy announcer sidekick, and an opening monologue that contains a bad Billy Carter joke (the broadcast takes place in 1977).
