O.J. Simpson has died

O.J. SIMPSON DEAD AT 76 After Cancer Battle

O.J. Simpson -- one of the most infamous high-profile Americans of all time -- is dead after a cancer battle.

The former NFL great -- who stood trial for the double-murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, in the '90s, only to be acquitted -- passed away Wednesday in Las Vegas ... this according to his family.

I checked the cast list of The Towering Inferno, which is 50 years old this year. Surprisingly, a number of the cast members are still with us: Susan Blakely, RIchard Chamberlain, Dabney Coleman, Faye Dunaway, Susan Flannery, Felton Perry, and Robert Wagner.

And good riddance®!

It's so wonderful to be reunited with so many of my old legal dream team buddies! Even if it is a tad too warm....

The Towering Bored Inferno lives on (mostly):

L'il Spock has a friend of a friend named "J" who farms with his dad and uncle. Apparently "J"'s uncle was really good friends with Simpson to the extent that he had been golfing with OJ on the day he was arrested a while back in the Las Vegas kerfuffle.

Apparently, the dad thinks OJ is guilty but the uncle (friend) thinks he was most likely guilty but there is a small chance that the son did it.

I don't know how a friendship like that could even begin to work.

OJ had visited the family lake cabin and stuff.
