RIP Earl Hagen

#1 Post by earendel » Wed May 28, 2008 7:50 am

Most famous for having written (and whistled) the theme song to "The Andy Griffith Show", Hagen also wrote the theme songs for "The Dick Van Dyke Show", "I Spy", "The Mod Squad", "That Girl" and "Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C." (among others). Dead at 88.

I heard the story on NPR so I figured it was just plain "Earl". I'm surprised I got "Hagen" right.
