Trevor - you still on J this Monday?

#1 Post by AlphaDummy » Sat Jun 14, 2008 8:55 am

Pretty sure you said June 16, and I haven't heard otherwise, so I better set my recorder. (Unfortunately, I can no longer see these things in advance. My time machine no longer works...a victim of progress, of all things.)

And, hopefully, it will not just be Monday. :D

Hey AD, thanks for asking!

And Slam, thanks for answering!

As Slam said, my J! appearance is scheduled to be on/begin on this Monday.

After three months, I'll be just about as surprised as anyone as to what the clues are - I don't even remember any of the categories. It's all just a blur.

I am working on a blog where I will chronicle the experience if anyone is interested or if they think it might help their own efforts.

I'll post the address when I get a few entries in.

Looking forward to it! And I'll get to see it here at 1030 which is 0430 on the east coast. I'll post no spoilers though, just get to cheer you on 6 hours ahead of time. Mel

If anyone is interested, the blog with the account of my Jeopardy! experience (up to the actual game(s) of course) is at http://www.pdonjeopardy.blogspot.com.

I hope all who read it will enjoy it and will find some tidbits that are helpful in your own gameshow questing.

WTG Dave! I'm glad I caught the 6PM Long Island version instead of waiting till 7 as storms are NYC bound and that means trouble (and I do not mean Helmsley's dog kind of trouble)

Congratulations, Dave. You were impressive!

Although I feared I was going to miss today's J! because of the golf tournament, my local station showed signs of intelligence. They used the shortened first time slot to show a truncated version of the J! rerun and the half-hour slot to broadcast the new show in full. I will hope to keep watching you for days and weeks to come.

In addition, thank you for the blog. You've already given me answers to several questions about Jeopardy! production that hadn't yet bubbled up to the top of my brain, and I have waded into the electronic flash card site. I will be a regular blog reader for as long as you'll keep writing.

Great blog. Dave. Thanks for sharing with us.
Spoiler
An even greater game. I was pulling for you to run the category on "boy" and hated it when the last clue stumped you, but at least no one else got it either. Then you ran another category later! Enjoyed it very much and looking forward to tomorrow.

Dave, you were a "buzz"-saw out there. It's been a long time since I've seen a defending champ remain so quiet for so long. The game dynamics graph at the J-archive site is quite telling.
I might not get to watch tomorrow's show, but I hope to see a lot of you later this week.

BTW, what are the odds of getting so many "classic" Jeopardy! categories in one game?

How much fun was that?

Let me tell you how much fun that was!

Oodles and oodles of fun.

Congratulations!

Looking forward to tonight.

Congratulations, Dave! And retroactive good luck for a long run as champion!

I missed a couple minutes of the show that were interrupted by severe thunderstorm warnings. Can't the thunderstorms wait until a commercial break? :P

Nice job Dave!!! The "champ" was giving you the evil eye because you were beating him to the buzzer that first round.

You looked really comfortable and also you looked like you had been there before. Great game show presence.

I look forward to today's show and maybe..................more?

Awesome, PD. Slightly surprising you couldn't come up with Boston College, but that was probably the only wrinkle in a nearly flawless game. You played like a champ and ARE the champ! Congratulations!! Hope your run is a long one.

I love your blog - I just got done reading it.

I am going to go tell that new poster to read it. Much of your stuff applies to BAM as well.

Can't wait till 7:00 to see you again!

And again I say, WOW!

This is such fun to watch. You were much more relaxed during the chat with Alex, so I can only assume you are enjoying the aisle seat?

See you tomorrow.
