I'm not sure how someone from Amarillo would know this. Is Lender's a regional brand? I've never heard of it.

I always thought it was national, we have them in CT. They're in the frozen foods area, still the only bagels that are actually a normal serving size!!!

It's a WE territory question, I see a lot of them in the NYC area.

I've seen them in LA.

Lender's actually originated here in CT. The very first bakery was in West Haven. I worked at their corporate headquarters for several mon ths back in the 80's, when I was a temp. I believe they are nation-wide.

Maybe I read US Weekly too much or watch too many episodes of The Hills (I can't believe I just admitted that), but I can't believe she got that $16k question wrong!! I haven't watched the episode yet (DVR), how old was she?

Well she does live in Amarillo, hardly the hotbed of haute couture. Or perhaps she's missing the designer gene.....LOL>

She's young. Early 30's I'd guess.

Maybe so. It wouldn't be the first time I'd never heard of a kind of food until it was mentioned on the show. Hmm, I'm getting hungry for some Lender's bagels with Emmentaler cheese.

They are nationwide, for example I've seen them in supermakets in Iowa, California and Texas.

I also used to live for a brief time in West Haven CT, right down the street from one of the Lender stores. I would have loved to have gotten this Q because I could have related the story that when my brother-in-law got married, my 10 year old daughter (at the time) danced with Murray Lender (he was a guest at the wedding - my BroInLaw's bride worked in the food services industry)!

They certainly don't have them here in Canada but I knew the answer just the same. I think I've seen them as sponsors on game shows or something like that.

I never knew that Mr. Lender was Polish.

$16K: I read Yves Saint Laurent's obituary, so I knew that a wrap dress was not his style of fashion. Outside of that, I would've had to ask the audience.

I don't know this. I'm pretty sure it's not YSL since I don't recall it being mentioned in all the coverage of his death. I might try the 50/50 or the ATA. I don't know why Stacie didn't go ahead and use her ATA - like Meredith, I'm pretty sure the NYC audience would have known this.

We had them in Oklahoma when elwing and I first got married, so I think they may be a national brand. But as sunflower said, they're frozen rather than sold in the bakery.

A female of a certain age would have know this one.

I hear they go well with glowing potatoes! :)

I'd have needed the ATA on the $16K question. Hopefully, the men in the audience would look to the women for the right answer.

Would depend on the age skew of the women in the audience.

Young'uns, probably would not have known.

I agree with Peacock. I knew this one, but then again, I'm in that "age group".
