I went to Anaheim last night to see the Mets beat the Angels. It now appears that I saw Willie Randolph's last game as manager. The New York Times is reporting that the Mets have fired Randolph, as well as three of his coaches.
That's too bad. Randolph isn't responsible for the collapse of the Mets' middle relief, or for the lack of a backup plan when Delgado's hitting skills cratered. If anyone is, it's Minaya, for failing to provide Randolph with the tools to get the job done. I hope Willie gets another chance to manage. --Bob
