Prayers and thoughts, please

#1 Post by nitrah55 » Wed Oct 31, 2007 8:09 am

As I reported here a few weeks ago, my mom took a fall and broke her hip. She observed (celebrated is not the word) her 90th birthday in the hospital. She's been at a rehab center for about two weeks. She is eating little, not engaged with people around her, and sleeps whenever she can.

She is very depressed, and I fear she is leaving us by inches.

A prayer or two for her, or good thought, if you could.

Thanks.
I am about 25% sure of this.

I'm sorry to hear about this.

As you may remember when you originally posted about your mother's fall, my mother also took a fall over the summer and broke her shoulder. She was in a tremendous amount of pain for about 3-4 weeks, and then slowly she started to feel better. While she is not back to her usually self physically she is back to her old self spirit wise. Hopefully your mom will have a similar recovery.

My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
Enjoy every sandwich

We're sending best wishes to your mom. May she get better and become alternately hungry and feisty on the path to complete recovery.

I am not a doctor, but I have played one on TV (ER). Too much pain medication can make a person change their personality. Older people take a much longer time to get the medication out of their system. I hope she is better soon and good vibes being sent your way.
