arrghhh!!!

#1 Post by kayrharris » Sat Jun 28, 2008 3:05 pm

100 mile drive to Atlanta airport for me. I am 20 minutes away and have been sitting at a dead standstill for one hour!

I have plenty of time (I hope!) but I am ticked off big time.

I don't blame you for wanting to scream.

May the traffic start moving now!

Ellyn just called. They are still on the runway in Charlotte. Supposedle air traffic in Atlanta has been grounded. Dunno why it is a lovely day here.
Also just heard traffic not due to clear out for another hour!

We may have a lovely stay in Atlanta tonight and try again tomorrow!

Well I checked www.georgia-navigator.com web site and it says this:

Northbound I-85 AT MILE POST 51.0 All Lanes blocked 6:30 PM Jun-28
10 vehicles, Coweta Co.

That is probably why. A 10-car accident.
Got your message and got back to you. Logging out now will check back later. Good luck with your flight.

In Georgia you can call 511 for road information.

Won't do me any good now. Still sitting here. Flight supposedly leaves in 45 minutes. Still waiting to hear if Ellyn made it out of Charlotte.

I'm getting hungry and could use a bathroom break!

Can you get off the freeway and take side streets?

Nope- not even close to an exit and no one has moved for more than 3 hours now.
Ellyn just called and said the 1st officer for our flight is in the same traffic jam so the flight is delayed

Maybe I will make it!

Hurray! Mother Murphy's Law strikes again. (Sometimes, somehow, usually when you least expect it, everything turns out right.)

And "all 3 of us" would be you, Skoop, and the crew's First Officer?

Great news, but at what cost to your nerves?

I'm glad you made it.

I think Skoop's mom is along as a chaperone.
