I am back!

#1 Post by christie1111 » Sun Jun 29, 2008 5:56 pm

Fun and wild and crazy quilting.

You may not believe it but it can be true.

Okay, wine and margaritas after a long day of quilting.

It is my idea of fun and a couple of other I know are here!

Let me go see what happened when I was away. Hope all is well and everyone behaved themselves.

Let me guess.....battling battings at 20 paces? Pinking shear duels? Sewing machine races?

You never know what's gonna happen when you mix drinking and quilting....

Sounds so like so much fun! Much better than being at home with a grumpy husband!

Doing PT now... think I'll get my sewing machine back next week. It's been in for a cleaning so I wouldn't be tempted to use it.

I spotted one of the quilts they made after their drinking binge.

That's why they call those things "crazy quilts."

This made me think of a kinder, gentler day, a couple of lovely summers where if I had Mondays off from my summer job, which was quite often, I drove my grandmother to sewing club. It was wonderful -- sometimes we worked on a group project, sometimes it was everyone for herself. No margs, but the desserts were out of this world! Grandma usually made twists and coffee. Aunt Laverne made something called Magic Cookie Bars -- I bet Christie could whip some up in 30 minutes and do some quilting on the side.

Oh yes -- I behaved myself perfectly while you were away.

-- America would be a better place if leaders would do more long-term thinking. -- Wilma Mankiller
