Spoiler
I doubt there's more than one Leszek, in the game show world, at least.
But AFAIK, TruCarMa was the only person we know on the show this season.

After my Grand Slam experience, few would be more qualified than I am to verify that... Until the PAF call near the end of the show, I thought today's episode was most notable for saying that the umbilicus is located in the stomach. Huh? Maybe so, if you're talking to a two-year-old with a very limited vocabulary.
Spoiler
...it was definitely Leszek's voice. I didn't know he did a PAF this season, or how he's connected to that contestant. He certainly cut it close with his answer, just barely getting in most of his guess before the 30 seconds expired. It's not clear whether he Googled or not, but today's Google results for caffre cat seem pretty helpful.

Yup, that was me. Lyn contacted me - turns out she beat a high school buddy of mine in her first J! appearance, which is why she had me in mind.
My PAFing was hampered by the fact that while Lyn said "cat", I heard "tax", and Googling "caffre tax" isn't terribly helpful. Finally chose the answer I did based on a guess as to the etymology of the word, i.e. what country did it sound like it would have come from. Luckily, that was the right choice.
7 for 7 as a PAF; not too shabby . Just wish I could get into the dang Hot Seat someday.

So this is appearance #1 for this season. Will #2 be in the near future?

Leszek, congratulations on coming through again! It was especially impressive if you were trying to find a "caffre tax," which is heretofore unknown on the internet.leszekmp wrote:My PAFing was hampered by the fact that while Lyn said "cat", I heard "tax", and Googling "caffre tax" isn't terribly helpful. I found this item on the web, which could explain why your episode was chosen for today, but probably not:
There are some Caffre cat photos here:Traditionally, Halloween is the day for black cats, but in a way the Caffre cat may be a more appropriate-looking feline for the occasion... its markings can make it appear a bit spooky or menacing. Which is perhaps why so many people are looking up the Caffre cat on the Internet today.
Maybe it's the Halloween-like coloring: the cat has coloring that is light brown or orange-brown, with dark stripes. Kind of like a jack-o-lantern in a big, furry ball.
The Caffre cat is better known as the Egyptian wildcat or African wildcat, and it was possibly the first cat to be domesticated. Wildcats are the direct ancestors of the house cat, making the Caffre cat the Mother of All House Cats.

A reasonable guess in the past, but turns out that modern domesticated cats are descended from the Near Eastern Wildcat, not the African Wildcat:

The site you pointed to is for a Bengal cat breader who is using the name Caffre Cattery, probably to sound more exotic. Bengals are not Caffre or Kaffir cats.TheConfessor wrote: http://www.caffrecattery.com/
Bengals are a new breed of cat that was developed in 1983. They were created by crossing a domestic cat with an Asian Leopard Cat. Bengals are intelligent, friendly, and quirky cats that enjoy playing in running water and don't mind getting wet. They also play fetch and "talk" to their owners.
Here is a picture of a Bengal
Our vet thinks that Jasper is Bengal. Jasper has spots like a leopard and his belly is very light with spots on it as well. The more desirable trait for this cat breed is rosettes or marbling rather than spots, but spots are acceptable in "pet grade" cats. Jasper doesn't have rosettes or marbling. Jasper does like to take showers, turn on faucets and play fetch. He will also stick his head under the faucet, when I am doing dishes, to get a drink of water. He also has a lot to say, particularly in the morning, when he hasn't been fed.
Here's a link to an encylopedia entry for Kaffir Cats. I don't think that they are as pretty as Bengals..

Whoa! Narrowly avoiding the nightmare of all PAFs--nice save, Leszek!leszekmp wrote: My PAFing was hampered by the fact that while Lyn said "cat", I heard "tax", and Googling "caffre tax" isn't terribly helpful. Wow. Artie the Psycho Cat resembles Jasper a lot. The belly thing really strikes me. If she were splayed out you could see her lighter tummy.I don't know about the water business, but I'm wondering if there would be some Bengal back there somewhere? Would her lack of tail matter?JasperSuchard wrote:Posted by PSM:
As you can see by Jasper's avatar, he has spots on his belly and the fur is much lighter than the rest of his body.
[I hope that nobody considers the sight of Jasper's "package" to be kitty porn.]
Well, then

Maybe Artie is a Manx, Bengal mix.Beebs52 wrote:He's quite a beauty.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I took a picture of Jasper five minutes ago and I am using it as my avatar, so you can see what he looks like now.
Artie supposedly has Manx in her, thus the tail and all. Her personality certainly fits the description of a Bengal.
Jasper plays fetch and enjoys opening drawers to take out rubber bands. We usually have rubber bands all over the floor because he likes to take them out and bring them to us to throw.
After baby-sitting Jasper while we were gone, my father-in-law said that Jasper wasn't a cat, he was a dog.
Jasper is not a lap cat, but he likes to be petted and he needs to be in the same room as people.

Jasper looks like he has the same eyeball shape and expression as Artie. I find it quite enchanting. It's like they're trying to flirt with you, only lazily, like a cat does.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:Maybe Artie is a Manx, Bengal mix.Beebs52 wrote:He's quite a beauty.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I took a picture of Jasper five minutes ago and I am using it as my avatar, so you can see what he looks like now.

If Jasper's (or any BB-kitty's) activities become a problem during the next 2 weeks, perhaps he would be a candidate for this show:PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote: Jasper plays fetch and enjoys opening drawers to take out rubber bands. That show sounds interesting. They should call it "The Cat Whiskerer."thguy65 wrote:
