We are cheering for Kellen Hunter from Minot. He played day 1A and was third in chips for his session with $155,000. Played golf with him before he left and took some of his traveling money. :D

He just turned 21 but is one heck of a hold'em player.

Might as well post this here. I played in WSOP event 9 - six handed event. Finished about 300th out of @1300 (not in the money). However, the next day I played in a $125 buyin tournament at Binions and won it. Left Vegas with more money than I came with, so it was a good trip. Sure wish I had won the $1500 buy in, though.

Binion's had some really good tournaments running the same time as the WSOP. I played in one in early June and got busted out with pocket Queens on the river. I lasted about half way in the tournament.

No, but I wish I had a % of him. He declined my offer.

Nice job Flock on the buyin tourney.

I did a quick search for Kellen Hunter and he is in the money and holding 115,000 in chips. The chip leader has 1,555,000 in chips.

He's at least doubled is entry fee so far.

Keep it up.

A chair but no chip.

From the WSOP.

Aleksandar Rasic left the Amazon Room at the last break along with all of the other players in the field. It is standard operating procedure here at the WSOP; players are not allowed to be in the tournament room until roughly five minutes are left on break. When he came back from smoking, he was just a bit tardy. He found that his table, Orange #40, had been broken immediately after play resumed. The only problem was, Rasic's stack was gone. A search was immediately commenced by the floor staff. They went from table to table looking for dead stacks; announcements were made over the P.A. system; and members of the media were consulted to see if they know where Rasic was supposed to be seated. All of those efforts proved fruitless. Harrah's surveillance staff reviewed the footage of the incident and was able to determine that the player seated immediately beside Rasic at Orange #40, Peter Traply, had accidentally scooped up Rasic's tiny stack (approximately 60,000 chips) when he transferred his own massive stack (over 800,000) to his new table. This appeared to be completely unintentional on Traply's part; the two stacks were very close to each other on Orange #40, and Traply inadvertently swept Rasic's chips up with his own. Once that determination was made, the floor staff approached Traply, explained the situation, and took 60,000 chips out of his stack to give back to Rasic. Thirty-five minutes into the level, Rasic was finally seated at Blue #36, Seat 3 -- the seat formerly occupied by Maya Antonius, who was one of several players to bust in the interim.

Kellen is still hanging tough.

According to their website, there are 288 players left in the tournament.

Kellen is one of them. He now has $35,000+ in his pocket. He is very short stacked and needs to outlast 50 more players to move up to the next prize level.

I'm calling it a night, but if anyone wants to se what's going on, here's what I've been looking at.

I thought for sure that the 28,000 was wrong, but I guess not--he did build it back up to 800,000. Kellen lost a ton of chips on a late hand and finished the day with 399,000--around 120th out of 189.

Just checked and he doubled up with a flopped straight beating a flopped set. He is now back over 800,000. His mom and dad flew down yesterday.

He still in this thing.

Looks like he finished 115th

Hunter Clubbed

Kellen Hunter raised in middle position and was called by Robert Caiaffa in the small blind, and Larry Wright in the big blind. They were three ways to a flop of 8 clubs 7 hearts 2 clubs. Caiaffa led out at the pot with a bet of 125,000. He was called by Wright before Hunter moved all in for a total of 459,000. Caiaffa made the call; Wright folded. Caiaffa:Q clubs, J clubs Hunter: Q spades Q hearts. It was Hunter's overpair versus Caiaffa's naked flush draw. Caiaffa won the battle when the turn immediately came 3 clubs to make his flush and give him an unbeatable hand. The board paired on the river with the 3 hearts. Hunter was eliminated on the hand. Caiaffa fell to his knees when he made the flush, shouted "Yes!", then stood back up and dragged in his chips.

I've been following Alex Outhred, an acquaintance of mine. He was one of the leaders on day 3, and he's still in the thick of it on day 5.

People on the bored may know Alex as the poker player who won $500k on "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader".

I won a WSOP main event package on Full Tilt this year, but I decided to take the $12k instead. I really want to play next year though.

Classic. Hunter was a 3 to 2 favorite after the flop. I hate flushes.

I hate flushes!
